President Bhandari urged all three tiers of government to ensure child rights

September 14, Kathmandu: National Children’s Day is being celebrated across the Country with various programs under the theme ‘COVID Pandemic: Protection of Child Rights is the Responsibility of All’.

In a message on the occasion of National Children’s Day, President Bidya Devi Bhandari said that it was the responsibility of the State to make children responsible citizens of the future by unleashing their talents.

President Bhandari said that it was the responsibility of all three levels of government, parents, schools and the society as a whole to effectively implement the constitutional and legal provisions of child rights.

President Bhandari also reminded that Nepal had been celebrating the National Children’s Day every year on September 14. On this day, Nepal had ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and expressed its commitment to the development of children, protection of child rights and child participation.
