Energy Minister Bhusal and German Envoy agree on enhancing energy sector of Nepal

August 31, Kathmandu: Minister Pampha Bhusal on Tuesday met with Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy to Nepal Dr Stephan Russek to discuss bilateral ties and topics of mutual interest.

Minister Bhusal and Dr Russek held talks regarding hydropower sector development, construction of transmission lines, and renewable energy during the meeting, according to Minister Bhusal’s secretariat.  

According to the German Embassy, Dr Russek congratulated Minister Bhusal on being appointed as the Energy Ninister and assured of continued cooperation between Nepal and Germany

“There has been a strong partner for the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation for many years, in areas such as hydropower sector development, construction of transmission lines, renewable energy, supporting Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) to distribute off-grid energy and expand biogas and solar home system,” the German Embassy has stated.
