China expects Sino-Nepal relations to further strengthen during PM Deuba’s tenure: Premier Li

July 29, Kathmandu: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday extended his best wishes for the success of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s term at the office.
In a congratulatory message sent on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal, the Chinese Premier has said that he would like to work together with his Nepali counterpart to take the strategic partnership between the two countries to a new height.
In the message, Chinese Premier Keqiang also said China would remain active to support Nepal through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Corona Virus pandemic control, and response and reviving the economy hit by the pandemic.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi had handed over the message from Premier Keqiang to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for delivering it to Prime Minister Deuba, who also currently holds the Foreign Affairs portfolio.
Meanwhile, thanking Premier Keqiang for the congratulatory message, Prime Minister Deuba said in a tweet on Wednesday evening that he looked forward to working closely with his Chinese counterpart to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries. “We will continue our cooperation in COVID-19 response and recovery,” Deuba said in his tweet.
