President Bhandari appoints new Province Chiefs for Gandaki and Lumbini Province

July 28, Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Prithviman Gurung and Amik Sherchan as the province chief of Gandaki and Lumbini, respectively.
The Office of the President said President Bhandari appointed Gurung and Sherchan as the province chiefs in accordance with Article 163 (12) of the Constitution of Nepal and the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
The cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to relieve Lumbini Province chief Dharmanath Prasad Yadav and Gandaki Province chief Sita Devi Poudel from their existing positions.
Sherchan had served as Gandaki province chief before Sita Kumari Poudel and Gurung was former Nepali Congress Chitwan President.
Government spokesperson and Law minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that the government also appointed Dr Bishwo Natha Poudel as the vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission.
Similarly, Ram Kumar Phuyal and Dil Bahadur Limbu were appointed members of the Commission.
