American J&J vaccines administered

July 19, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday inaugurated the Johnson & Johnson vaccination program.

The vaccination program was initiated by handing over the vaccines to the health workers at the Nepal Orthopedic Hospital in Jorpati, Kathmandu.

US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry was also present at the launch of the immunization program.

In addition, Prime Minister Deuba has also monitored the vaccination centres.

According to the Ministry of Health, the vaccine will be given to people in the age group of 50 to 54 years, persons with disabilities who have A and B class identity cards, refugees living in Nepal, and sanitation workers.

The US had donated over 1.5 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to help Nepal’s vaccination campaign.
