Literary writing for social transformation: President Bhandari

Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said literary workers should make a further contribution to social transformation in the changed context.
At a prize distribution program organized by Nepal Academy at the President’s Office on Wednesday, President Bhandari reminded that the literary writers have also played a significant role in the social transformation.
The President also paid tributes to pioneering poet Bhanubhakta Acharya on the occasion of his 208th birth anniversary. Bhanubhakta’s works have contributed much to Nepali language and literature, Bhandari viewed.
Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Upreti informed Academy began honoring even the international persons who have contributed to Nepali language, literature, and translation. At the program, various national and international literary writers were honored with Pragyalankar Award. Similarly, those winning in the national poetry symposium- 2077 and 2078 were given prizes at the program.
