Siren fixed to receive prior alert about flood

Sindhupalchowk: Melamchi Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district has fixed a siren as the flood early warning system to the communities residing on the riverbank areas. With the installation of the siren, it is expected that there will be a reduction in humanitarian loss from the flood.

The heavy flooding and landslides that occurred two weeks ago wreaked havoc in Melamchi and Helambu area claiming the lives of many people and damaging huge properties.
