PM Oli vows to leave no stone unturned to contain corona infection and save people’s life

May 3, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government is sensibly watchful and committed to saving people’s lives from corona virus.

Addressing the nation on Monday, PM Oli said the government had been making every possible efforts to protect people’s life and vowed that the government would leave no stone unturned to fulfill its responsibility.

PM Oli made it clear that his government’s utmost priority at present was to protect the human life. He further said the government had highly prioritized the efforts for prevention, control and treatment of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.

PM Oli also expressed his gratitude for all including neighboring countries, other friendly nations and organizations for their supports in fighting the corona virus infection.

Saying the invisible enemy has tested our ability and exposed our vulnerability globally, PM Oli believed that the deadly disease can be overcome through our collective efforts. PM Oli further stressed the need for ensuing every county’s access to the global goods- vaccines and critical care medicines.

PM Oli further urged the neighboring countries, friendly nations and international organizations to help Nepal with vaccines and necessary medical equipment to battle the pandemic.

Clarifying that the government has been providing anti-Covid-19 vaccine to people amidst the pandemic, PM Oli informed that the government has forwarded the process of bring enough doses of vaccine to all target group.

The PM further informed that the government has decided to suspend domestic flights from midnight today to mid-May and the international flights from the 6th of May to mid-May.

He added that oxygen plants would be set up at large hospitals and medical colleges, and non-functional oxygen plants would come into operation with maintenance.

PM Oli said retired health professionals and other health workers would be recruited on contract basis for one year to ensure sufficient health manpower in federal, provincial and local levels.

He also urged leaders and cadres of political parties, people’s representatives and social organizations to scatter awareness about Covid-19.
