CPN-UML takes disciplinary action against four Karnali Province Assembly lawmakers removing them from party’s general membership
April 23, Kathmandu: The 10th General Convention Organizing Committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML has removed four Karnali Province Assembly lawmakers from the party’s general membership.
The committee meeting held at the Official Residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar on Friday decided to fire lawmakers Prakash Jwala, Amar Bahadur Thapa, Kurma Raj Shahi and Nanda Singh Budha from party’s general membership over their involvement in anti-party activity.
The four lawmakers had denied the whip of the party and voted in favor of the Karnali Province government crossing the floor of the CPN-UML.
The Spokesperson of the party and Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has informed that the meeting also formed a 19-memebr Standing Committee and reshuffled the role of the central members of the party.
He further informed that the meeting urged the leaders involved in parallel activities to return to the mainstream and directed all the party committees to involve in the preparation of upcoming by-election of the National Assembly.
The today’s meeting finalized the political report presented by the Party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and organizational proposal presented by General Secretary Iswor Pokhrel incorporating suggestions over them.
Party Spokesperson Gyawali also informed that the meeting endorsed 11 contemporary proposals. The party meeting has urged its cadres to be mobilized as voluntaries in activities to spread Covid-19 related awareness and setting up and managing quarantines and isolation centers.
