Problems regardless of their complexity should be peacefully resolved: Minister Gyawali

March 18, Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has said that Nepal as a peace-loving country believes that any problem regardless of its complexity can be resolved through dialogues and negotiations.

Addressing a seminar titled “Six decades of Nepal- Israel Relations ” on Thursday, Minister Gyawali said Nepal and Israel shared cordial bilateral and multilateral relations marked with great people-to-people relations.

Saying that Nepal and Israel had signed different agreements related to science and technology, agriculture, education, and technology transfer, Minister Gyawali said that Israeli assistance would be pivotal for the modernization of the Nepali agriculture sector.

In a virtual address, Nepali Ambassador to Israel Anjan Shakya expressed that the six-decade-old bilateral relations between Israel and Nepal would be further consolidated in the days to come.

Informing that Government to Government (G to G) agreement had been signed between Nepal and Israel opening opportunities to Nepali migrant workers to work as caregivers, Ambassador Shakya said new opportunities in sectors like hospitality and construction would be opened in the near future.

Ambassador Shakya also informed that Israel would increase its help and assistance to Nepal as per its “Look East” policy.

Also addressing the seminar, Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder said the ethos seen in the bilateral relationship between Israel and Nepal should echo in multilateral forums such as United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Goder said that Israel expected that Nepal in the days ahead would vote in favour of Israel if any such resolutions surfaced in the UNGA.
