Preparation to extend academic session

January 26, Kathmandu: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has started legal consultation to extend the academic session till the month of May.

Saying discussion was underway to extend this academic session for two months, Spokesperson at the Ministry, Deepak Sharma shared that the education regulations should be amended from the cabinet.

The academic session usually starts from April  and ends in the month of  March every year.

The  existing education regulation has provision that school should be opened for 220 days in a year and  teaching learning activities should be carried out for 192 days.

This year the academic session has been affected due to Corona Virus pandemic.

Schools in recent time have started running classes physically by adopting health safety measures .
