Free beds for coronavirus patients : Health Ministry

Kathmandu- The Ministry of Health and Population has requested the surgeons and the doctors to postpone non-emergency surgeries and to complete all the emergency surgeries as fast as possible.

Saying that the corona patients needing ICU and Ventilators were increasing unsustainably, the Ministry has urged the health institutions to postpone all non-emergency operations to free hospital beds.

In the regular press brief, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam urged senior citizens, pregnant women, and people with the compromised immune system to adopt special caution, saying timely detecting coronavirus was difficult at the time seasonal flu.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday has registered an additional two thousand and 71 new cases of the coronavirus infection in Nepal .

The Kathmandu valley alone recorded one thousand four hundred and 16  new cases on Sunday.

With Sunday’s cases, the total coronavirus tally has climbed to one hundred and seven thousand seven hundred and 55 in the nation.

Likewise, One thousand five hundred and fifty-two corona infected people returned home on Sunday after recovering from the virus.

Seventy-five thousand eight hundred and four people have recovered from the virus in the country so far.

Similarly, the nation-wide coronavirus death toll has reached six hundred and 36, with 22 deaths recorded on Sunday.
