Kathmandu: The candidacy of Raju Gurung, a common candidate from the ruling coalition from Rupandehi Constituency 2 has been scrapped.

The Supreme Court today followed the decision of the Election Commission to scrap the candidacy of Gurung from the CPN Unified Socialist.

A division bench of Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Kumar Regmi rejected to give continuity to the interlocutory interim order issued by the court on the 16th of October.

The court decision says it is not possible to issue an interim order as demanded because a blacklisted person cannot be a candidate for the election of the House of Representatives.
