Ruling coalition’s common candidate Raju Gurung’s candidacy scrapped

Kathmandu: The candidacy of Raju Gurung, a common candidate from the ruling coalition from Rupandehi Constituency 2 has been scrapped.

The Supreme Court today followed the decision of the Election Commission to scrap the candidacy of Gurung from the CPN Unified Socialist.

A division bench of Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Kumar Regmi rejected to give continuity to the interlocutory interim order issued by the court on the 16^th of October.

The court decision says it is not possible to issue an interim order as demanded because a blacklisted person cannot be a candidate for the election of the House of Representatives.
