Russia and Ukraine escalate fighting in east

October 17, Kathmandu: A fierce war is continuing in Donetsk, the eastern region of Ukraine, between the Russian and Ukrainian forces. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that there was a fierce war ongoing between two armies in the cities of Bakhmut and Soledar in Donetsk. 

According to Reuters, fierce fighting has been going on for the past few days in Ukraine’s eastern industrial regions of Luhansk and Donetsk and in the strategically important Kherson region.
