EC calls aspirant candidates for first past the post-election to nominate their candidacy on October 9
Kathmandu: The Election Commission has urged aspirant candidates for the November 20 Federal and Provincial elections for the first past the post category to submit their nominations from 10 am to 5 pm on October 9.
Issuing a press statement, the commission informed that the commission had already set up the offices of the chief returning officers and returning officers in all electoral constituencies.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has been leading the voter education programmes through the voters’ Education Facilitation and Management committee at the local level to make voters’ education effective.
Talking to Radio Nepal, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said the voter education facilitation committees have been formed inwards, at municipal and district levels.
Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya further said the commission has already dispatched the voters’ education material to the respective levels.
Saying the commission has made the ballot paper easy to handle, he adds that the ballot paper will be printed once the election symbols are allocated to the respective candidates.
This time, the commission is working on making the ballot paper including symbols only issued for the candidates in the particular constituency.
