Russia must be punished for its attack on Ukraine: President Zelensky

September 22, Kathmandu: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Russia should receive a “just punishment” for its attack on Ukraine. 

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York via video, President Zelensky demanded the formation of a special war tribunal to investigate the war crimes committed by Russia. 

President Zelensky also presented a peace plan to the General Assembly, which included more military aid to Ukraine and the global punishment of Russia. 

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the deployment of 300,000 reserve soldiers. 

According to the BBC, demonstrations have started in various cities of Russia against the move.
