Covered hall constructed at Rong in Ilam

Mangalbare: A covered hall has been built at Rong Rural Municipality in Ilam.

The covered hall was constructed at Hanspokhari, a religious and touristic site of the rural municipality.

For the covered hall construction, the rural municipality had appropriated a budget of Rs 2.5 million, the Local Infrastructure Development Programme Fund (Ilam Constituency-1) contributed Rs 3 million and Province-1 Tourism Ministry provided Rs 800,000.

The covered hall is expected to ease the practising and coaching of badminton, table tennis, karate, taekwondo and boxing.

Rural Municipality Chairperson Mani Kumar Syambo said national-level tournaments can be easily hosted in the covered hall.

“It would help produce players in different sports genres”, said Yogesh Chamling, who has been effortful in developing Karate games since 1989.
