Health Ministry confirms dengue infection in 75 districts

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed the spread of dengue infection in 75 districts.

In a regular media briefing of the ministry today, Ministry spokesperson Dr. Sanjaya Kumar Thakur said the dengue infection spread in many parts of the country including Kathmandu valley as a health challenge.

The Health Ministry has also urged all to adopt precautions to avoid dengue infection.

According to the ministry data, 6 thousand 2 hundred and 7 cases of dengue have been reported so far.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to launch an awareness campaign to make people aware of dengue infection.

A high level meeting involving the secretaries from various ministries held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singh Durbar today decided to delegate the responsibility of coordinating programme of dengue control to the Health and Population Ministry.

The meeting also decided to prepare various audio -visual materials urging people to search and destroy mosquito larva.

Likewise, the government will make necessary arrangement to diagnose and treat dengue.
