HoR endorses proposal seeking consideration on Bill to Amend Some Nepal Act
Kathmandu: The Nepal Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill-2022 endorsed and sent by the National Assembly was tabled in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday.
Secretary at the House of Representatives Gopal Nath Yogi said the National Assembly on Friday passed the bill with a majority of votes without any amendments and returned it to the lower house.
Now the bill would be certified by House Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, and then it would be sent to President Bidya Devi Bhandari for its authentication.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives unanimously endorsed the proposal seeking consideration on the Bill to Amend Some Nepal Act-2022.
Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Govinda Prasad Sharma (Koirala) presented the proposal for the same in the meeting.
In the House meeting, the lawmakers also expressed their concerns over various contemporary issues including containment of dengue, rising price hike of daily essentials, and problems seen in Tribhuvan University among others.
