Maoist Centre to change existing political moves in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has hinted at unveiling special political moves and structural provisions to strengthen the party’s grip in the Kathmandu Valley.

Addressing a political event organised by the party’s Kathmandu Valley Special Committee here Monday, the Maoist Centre Chairman announced to bring new campaigns to expand the party’s outreach. “Our position is very poor in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.

But, the Maoist party is the first force of the communist movement in Bagmati though not in the entire Bagmati Province,” he claimed.

He was of the view that the party organisation’s structure and some policy issues should be revised in a new fashion for the reinvigoration of the CPN (Maoist Centre) in the Kathmandu Valley. On the occasion, Prachanda hoped that the party would regain its strong presence in the Bagmati Province though the party was comparatively weak in the valley.

The party was seen as weak in the valley as the party’s force was decentralised. Special province and liaison province committees should be centralised in the valley, Dahal shared his idea with the party leaders and cadres from the Bagmati province.

He further shared that the party’s office-bearer would lead the party’s organisation in the Kathmandu Valley. Furthermore, the Maoist Centre Chairman argued that unexpected figures would contest the upcoming elections from the Maoist Centre.
