Giving verdict on civil servants’ adjustment, SC allows PSC for new recruitment

August 24, Kathmandu: The Supreme Court (SC) has given its verdict on the dispute over civil servants’ adjustment.

With the verdict, ways have been paved for the Public Service Commission (PSC) to conduct processes for all examinations for the recruitment of government employees.

A constitutional bench of Acting Chief Justice Dipak Kumar Karki, Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Anil Kumar Sinha, Bam Kumar Shrestha and Tanka Bahadur Moktan handed down the verdict by scrapping all the writ petitions in regard to the PSC.

“All the writ petitions filed at the SC demanding a postponement of the PSC examinations have been scrapped, according to  Supreme Court’s spokesperson Bimal Poudel

A total of 99 writ petitions were filed at the SC regarding the civil servants’ adjustment.

According to him, the SC has ordered to make arrangements in the area where the post is available in regard to the civil servant’s adjustment while the disputes of the province should be settled by the province itself.

However, details of the verdict would be available only after the full text of the verdict is made public.
