British Ambassador and PM’s foreign affairs advisor discuss bilateral relations (audio report)

August 17, Kathmandu: The British Ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt, on Wednesday met with the foreign affairs advisor to the Prime Minister, Arun Subedi,  at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

According to the Prime Minister’s office, the meeting focused on the various aspects of bilateral between Nepal and the United Kingdom.

On the occasion, Subedi praised the UK for its continuous help in the democratization and development of Nepal by being based on age-old ties.

In response, Ambassador Pollitt assured of continuing UK’s assistance for the development endeavours of Nepal including in the field of democracy and human rights.

The talks also revolved on removing the Nepali aviation sector from the European Union’s blacklist

Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding on the supply of medical personnel is being signed between Nepal and Britain on coming Monday. The MoU will be signed in Britain. 

According to the Ministry of Labour, the Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Ek Narayan Aryal, and the British ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt will sign the MoU on behalf of their respective governments.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on the June 14 had approved the MOU to send health human resources from Nepal to the UK.
