NSP and CPN (UC) to contest upcoming polls with CPN (MC) election symbol
Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepal Socialist Party (NSP) have agreed to use the same election symbol in the elections to the members of House of Representatives and Province Assembly scheduled for coming November 20.
The CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Standing Committee meeting held today decided to allow Dr Baburam Bhattarai-led Samajwadi Party to use its election symbol.
CPN (Maoist Centre) spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara shared that the party officially made a decision to allow NSP to use their election symbol in the coming polls.
As per the decision, central office member Shiva Khakurel from CPN (Maoist Centre) and chief-secretary of NSP Fanindra Devkota were sent to the Election Commission for obtaining information to that end.
Both the parties have jointly submitted the application to the commission. Based on this, the Maoist election symbol (Sickle-Hammer) will be used by both the parties.
Likewise, National Assembly member Bamdev Gauatam-led CPN (Unity Campaign) has also decided to use the Maoist election symbol in the upcoming elections.
