Government withdrew Citizenship Bill to review it to ensure citizenship for all Nepali people: Minister Karki
Kathmandu: Communication and Information Technology Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said the government withdrew the Citizenship Bill to review it to ensure citizenship for all Nepali people.

Unveiling the decisions of 5th July’s cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Government Spokesperson and Communication Minister Karki said there were cases of children from Nepali parents not getting citizenship and, therefore, the government decided to withdraw the bill and rework it.
He further said once the bill got endorsed by the parliament, all the Nepali people would get citizenship in an easy manner.
Minister Karki further said the government also decided to receive the international grants offered from development partners.
Likewise, the cabinet endorsed various directives and regulations including the Armed Police Regulation second amendment, 2022.
