EC recommends government hold provincial and federal elections on November 18

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has recommended the government hold the provincial and federal elections on November 18 in a single phase.

During a consultation with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and ministers today, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Tapaliya suggested the government determine November 18 as the election date for both the provincial and federal levels.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba said the government would fix an appropriate election date around the date recommended by the Election Commission.

The Chief Election Commissioner also drew the attention of the government to the use of electronic voting machines for the upcoming elections.
