Two arrested for illegally trafficking wildlife

Kathmandu: A team of Nepal Police personnel arrested two persons in possession of wild animals including a tortoise.
The team deputed from Police Station Koteswor held Raj Deula, 25, and Rahul Deula, 20, who has been residing in Kirtipur municipality-9, with 10 tortoises on Sunday evening.
A spokesperson at District Police Range Kathmandu Dinesh Raj Mainali informed that the police team arrested both from a café at Kathmandu metropolis-32, Koteswor on a charge of being involved in the illegal trafficking of wildlife.
Police recovered 10 tortoises, three sets of mobile phones and a motorbike (Ba 99 Pa 4944) from the smugglers.
Mainali further shared that the Koteswor police station is carrying out an investigation into the incident.
