Security personnel reached the accident site

Myagdi: A team of security personnel has reached the crash site of Tara Air.

The plane was carrying 22 people including three crew members was found in an accident at Sanosare of Thasang Rural Municipality -2 in Mustang this morning.

A team of herdsmen and locals found the plane, which had been without contact since Sunday morning.

Administrative Officer at the District Administration office, Mustang, Devendra Raj Pandey, said that a team of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and Sherpa reached the spot from Kowang by helicopter.

It has been found that the plane had crashed into a hill at the foot of Manapathi Himal, which is about four hour walk from Kowang, the centre of Thasang Rural Municipality. Efforts to search for the plane were unsuccessful on Sunday due to fog and inclement weather.

The Tara Air, which flew from Pokhara to Jomsom at 9:55 am, lost contact with the tower of Jomsom Airport at 10:07 am.
