HoR and NA begin deliberations on government’s policies and programs
Kathmandu: Deliberations on Policies and programs for the fiscal year 2022/23 presented by President Bidyadevi Bhandari began in the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The discussion started after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba presented a proposal in today’s meeting to start the discussion on the annual policy and program for the fiscal year 2022/23.
During the meeting, the leader of the Parliamentary Party of the Main Opposition Party, CPN-UML, Chairperson Oli said that he was happy with the completion of the election and wished the elected candidate good luck and a spirit of service to the people.
Chairman Oli said that the people are suffering due to the sharp rise in prices, adding that the prices of petroleum products have been increased twice a week and advised the government not to deceive the people.
Likewise, the National Assembly (NA) has begun deliberations on the government policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2079/80 BS (2022-23).
The policies and programmes for the new fiscal year were presented by President Bidya Devi Bhandari before a joint session of the Federal Parliament on May 24.
In the session of the Upper House held on Thursday, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Govinda Sharma Koirala, on behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, proposed the meeting to hold discussions on the government’s new policies and programmes.
Taking part in the deliberations, Bhairab Sundar Shrestha, Shekhar Kumar Singh, Bhagawati Neupane and Bimala Ghimire who have proposed amendments to the policies and policies, defended the amendment proposals.
As they viewed, ‘one household: one tap’ programme announced by the government is claimed to be for ensuring drinking water supplies to over 460 thousand people, but the concern is that under the programme, high and medium standards of drinking water to the target groups.
“People need pure drinking water and we want the government to clarify to us who are its target groups for high standard water and who are of the medium standard.” They alleged the recent local level elections were held in an unjust way despite the government’s claim that it was peaceful.
Amendments have also been sought in regard to the government’s decision to exclude over 1,400 road projects introduced by the previous government. The deliberations continue.
