Country’s dollar reserve in balanced condition for around 7 months: Finance Minister Sharma

Kathamndu: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has responded to the queries of lawmakers over the proposed Principles and Priorities of Appropriation Bill for the upcoming fiscal year in the parliament.
Responding to the concerns of the lawmakers in the meeting of the House of Representatives today, Finance Minister Sharma said the country’s dollar reserve was in balanced condition for around 7 months. He added that the non-resident Nepalese had been urged to open dollar accounts in order not to let the country’s dollar reserve fall down.
The Finance Minister also informed the House that Nepal would see an estimated 5.84 per cent economic growth rate as a result of an increment in the country’s GDP.
He also sought collective efforts from all quarters to boost the country’s economic development. As Finance minister Sharma said, a total of 26 thousand 7 hundred and 50 business companies had been registered during this month alone.
The finance minister further stated that the country’s inflation rate had reached 7.28% despite the government’s target to limit it to 6.5 per cent.
