Coalition Congress candidate wins in Mustang’s Gharpajhong
Candidates of the alliance of Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN-Unified Socialists have won the local level election in Gharpajhong Rural Municipality of Mustang district.
Mohan Singh Lalchan of the Nepali Congress, the candidate for the post of Rural municipality chairman from the coalition, won by two votes. According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Mustang, Lalchan got 760 votes while his rival Sanjay Kumar Thakali of UML got 758 votes.
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jamuna Thakali of the Nepali Congress got 693 votes while her rival Meem Kumari Sherchan of the UML got 618 votes. In the local level election held on Friday, there were 2,084 voters in Gharpajhong Rural Municipality and 76.68 per cent or 1,598 votes were cast.
CPN-UML candidate Phanindra Thakali has won the election for the post of ward chairman of Gharapjhong Rural municipality-3. The panel including Yama Prasad Thakali of the Nepali Congress has won the ward chairmanship of Gharpajhong-4.
