Elections are the most beautiful aspect of democracy: President Bhandari

May 12, Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called on one and all to vote in the May 13 local level elections in a free and fearless manner.

In a video message, President Bhandari said that governance by people’s elected representatives was the most beautiful aspect of democracy.

Stating that periodic elections were the basis of a functioning democracy, the President said elections were the means to justify the theory that people were the real source of state power.

President Bhandari urged all the celebrate the elections as a national festival.
