Women’s march for climate justice

February 27, Kathmandu: A women’s march is being organized from Kathmandu to the Sagarmatha basecamp in a bid to create awareness on climate change impact.

Forty women from different sectors will launch the 13-day march from March 8, Women’s Day. An organization named ‘Sathsathai’ will be organizing the event.

Information to this was shared at a programme where Justice at Supreme Court, Sapana Pradhan Malla, expressed happiness over such innovative approach of celebrating Women’s Day.

She further viewed the march would also give a message for climate action at a time when the global warming was causing snowmelt in the Himalaya. The event is being organized under the slogan, ‘women united for climate justice.’
