Health Ministry records 639 new COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths

Kathmandu: Six hundred and 39 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Nepal on Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the number of coronaviruses was detected in course of conducting 9,756 tests. The number of coronavirus cases confirmed through PCR tests has reached 974,493 so far in the country.

Similarly, the number of COVID-19 patients confirmed through antigen test has reached 138,044. The Health Ministry added that 1,600 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of those recovering from the coronavirus has reached 944,337.

Likewise, three more people succumbed to the contagion in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatality to 11,905. The fatality rate from the virus is 1.2 per cent. Currently, the number of active coronavirus cases is 18,251 in the country.

Of them, 17,508 are in home isolation and 671 in institutional isolation. Similarly, 156 are receiving treatment in ICU and 25 on ventilator support. A total of 214,103 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours, added the Ministry.
