Decentralisation of education sector needed: Swiss Ambassador Capeller (audio report)

February 16, Kathmandu: The Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel met the Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal Elisabeth von Capeller at the Education Ministry on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry, the duo discussed Nepal’s education sector, poverty alleviation, and rural development, during the meeting.

On the occasion, Minister Paudel via the Swiss Ambassador urged the Swiss government to assist the development, up-gradation, and strengthening of technical education of Nepal.

Minister Paudel said Nepal had a plan to expand technical and multi-technical education to all 753 local levels of the country.

In response, stressing the need for the Ministry to hand over rights to provincial and local levels to enhance the quality of technical and vocational education, Ambassador Capeller pledged on behalf of the Swiss Government to continue its assistance to Nepal.
