UML terms impeachment motion as a conspiracy

February 14, Kathmandu: The main opposition CPN (UML) has termed the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice as a conspiratorial step.

A meeting of the party’s secretariat held on Sunday evening, at the residence of Chairman KP Sharma Oli concluded that the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR was an attack on the court and democracy.

UML general secretary Shankar Pokharel said the party had decided to challenge the move by taking it seriously.

Pokharel also stated that the recent step was a conspiracy to destabilize the relations between the ruling and opposition parties.

Sunday’s meeting also decided to hold the parliamentary party meeting of the CPN (UML) on Monday, which would take important decisions.
