TU postpones all ongoing examinations due to Covid infections in university staff and examinees
Kathmandu: Tribhuvan University has postponed all ongoing examinations, citing Covid infections in university staff and examinees.
A meeting of the University central examination board of directors held on Thursday decided to put off all annual and semester examinations to be effective from January 23 until further notice.
“Most of the examinations under the TU have been completed, some other underway and preparations for others have been over. However, the variant has been fast spreading across the country including in the Kathmandu Valley and students sitting in the tests, examination staff, lecturers and professors of the University have contracted the virus.
So a meeting of the TU central examination board of directors decided to put off all annual and semester examinations,” according to a statement issued by the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had asked the concerned bodies to carry out monitoring of the colleges conducting the TU examinations and to postpone the examination for a few weeks if health safety protocols of COVID-19 were determined by the government were not found adopted.
