Weather to remain cloudy from tomorrow: Meteorological Forecasting Division

Kathmandu: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast the weather to be partly to generally cloudy in Province 1, Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province and partly cloudy in the rest of the country today.

Due to the effect of the western low-pressure system entering from western Nepal from tonight, the Division has forecast the weather to be generally to mostly cloudy in Sudur Paschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati Provinces and partly to generally cloudy in Province 1 and Province 2 from tomorrow till Saturday.

A special weather bulletin issued by the division states, by Saturday, the system is expected to spread across the country, especially in the mountainous regions of Sudur Paschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces.

There is a possibility of light snowfall in some parts of the region. There is also a possibility of light rain in some places in the hilly and Terai regions of Sudur Paschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati Province and Provinces 1 and 2. From Sunday this weather system will gradually weaken and the weather will start improving.

Meteorological Forecasting Division has urged to take necessary precautions to avoid the effects of cold and snowfall as the weather system may affect the daily life of the people including airspace, mountaineering, agriculture and transportation.

According to the latest details of the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was 4.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 18.5 degrees Celsius today.
