Tamu Loshar being celebrated by Gurung community today; Prez, Vice-Prez, PM give their best wishes

December 29, Kathmandu: Tamu Loshar is being celebrated by the Gurung community across the country today. Tamu Loshar is celebrated as a new year by the Gurung community. This year is the year of the tiger.

Meanwhile, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that festivals like Tamu Lhosar would enhance the spirit of mutual harmony, tolerance and brotherhood among all Nepalis and help further strengthen greater national unity.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Tamu Lhosar festival today, she has wished that this festival would inspire all Nepalis to take the lead in building a civilized and progressive society.

Similarly, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has expressed the hope that the festival of Tamu Lhosar would inspire all for building a prosperous Nepal along with the socio-economic transformation of Nepali people.

The Vice President in a message of best wishes on this occasion extended his best wishes for happiness, peace, good health and prosperity to all sisters and brothers at home and abroad.

He also urged all those celebrating the festival to follow COVID-19 health protocols.

Likewise,  Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters living in the country and abroad on the occasion of the Tamu Lhosar.

In the message of best wishes, PM Deuba wished peace, prosperity and happiness to all.
