CPN Maoist Centre Chair Prachanda presents political report at closed session under party’s 8th National General Convention
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ presented a political report at the closed session under the 8th National General Convention of the party on Monday.
Likewise, leader Dev Gurung submitted a proposal to amend the statute of the party.
The party has formed 25 groups to deliberate on the political report and statute draft. The Party informed that the group leaders would furnish suggestions on the political report and statute draft on Wednesday after holding discussion tomorrow.
The political report presented by the Party Chair as entitled ‘Path to Socialism in the 21st Century’ has included various political aspects in 7 title. Party spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said preparation in a systematic manner for a peaceful revolution and becoming accountable to the proletariat had been mentioned in the political report.
Meantime, CPN (Maoist Centre) Standing Committee member Dev Gurung presented a statute draft in the closed session of the General Convention, proposing a 299-member Central Committee with 15 office-bearers.
The draft has proposed one chair, one senior vice chair, six vice-chairs, one general secretary, two deputy general secretaries, three secretaries and a treasurer.
