CPN (MC)’s 8th general convention: closed-door session begins

Kathmandu : The closed-door session under the 8th general convention of CPN (Maoist Centre) has started at the Academy building in the capital.

CPN Maoist Centre’s standing committee member and finance minister Janardhan Sharma shared CPN Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda”s political report and party statute along with other documents would be presented in the closed-door session.

A total of 1,631 delegates and observers are participating in the closed session.

Representatives from seven geographical provinces and three non-geographical provinces are taking part in the general convention of the party.

It may be noted that the CPN (MC)’s central committee meeting held on Sunday morning decided to elect a 299-member central committee including 15 office-bearers.

Secretary at CPN (MC) central office, Shreeram Dhakal informed that the process of electing leadership would take place after the endorsement of the political report and the statute.
