Office bearers of EC meet PM Deuba about holding upcoming local level elections

Kathmandu: The office bearers of the Election Commission have held a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba about holding the upcoming local level elections.

The office bearers of the Election Commission including Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Tapaliya proposed the April 27 in 2022 to be the date for holding local level elections.

The Chief Election Commissioner also suggested that the second round of the local level elections could be held on the May 5 in 2022 if it was not possible to hold in the first round.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba said he would hold discussion with political parties regarding the proposal of the election commission.
