Govt to bring federal education act: Minister Paudel

December 24, Kathmandu: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Devendra Paudel has said that preparations are underway to bring the federal education act through a shortcut as there has been delay in this regard. Works initiated by the former education minister would continue and a discussion with the stakeholders on the subject of the federal education act was underway, said the Education Minister at a meeting of the Education and Health Committee under the House of Representatives on Thursday.

Stating that the ministry has issued a circular to the local level to provide remunerations to teachers for the early childhood development program, he said that this issue would be incorporated in the Act so as to additionally strengthen it.

On the occasion, former Education Minister Girirajmani Pokharel has urged publication of the 15th plan report prepared by the National Planning Commission and the report prepared by the high-level commission.

Also, former Health Minister Khagraj Adhikari suggested that parents’ responsibility to their children pursuing education should be mentioned in the law.
