Supreme Court bars teachers from involving in party convention

December 14, Kathmadnu: The Supreme Court issued an interim order urging teachers not to be engaged in political activities and participate in party’s general convention.
The single bench of Justice Tej Bahadur KC on Sunday issued the interim order asking the teachers not to take part in party’s general convention and not to be voters and candidates of any political parties’ conventions.
“An interim order has been issued in accordance with Rule No 49 of Supreme Court Rules-2074 BS to prevent the teachers from becoming the candidate themselves.
Bhakta Bahadur KC and others had filed a writ petition, demanding that the teachers should not be voters and candidates for any political parties’ conventions at any level and for any executive committees. T
he writ had mentioned that there were some teachers elected as delegates to the ongoing Nepali Congress’s 14th national convention and it was against the existing laws. T
