President Bhandari expresses worry regarding Kathmandu’s pollution

November 20, Kathmandu: President Bhandari expressed her concern over the global risk posed by climate change.
“We are facing the climate change crisis,” the President said, adding that although Kathmandu was culturally the best place in the world, increasing pollution was taking a toll on human health.
“The environment should be clean and balanced”, the President stressed.
Inaugurating the Gyanmala Bhajan Khala, a monument, located at Swayambhu after its reconstruction, President Bhandari emphasized conserving old cultural heritages to maintain ecological balance by protecting natural heritage.
Likewise, the President drew the attention of the concerned sectors to the programmes on adaptation to climate change.
President Bhandari underlined the need for judicial utilization of local resources for national prosperity.
