Supreme Court to determine cases for conducting hearings through random selection
The Full Court of the Supreme Court has decided to determine cases for conducting hearings through random selection procedure.
The meeting of the Full Court of 19 justices excluding Chief Justice Cholendra Sharsher Jabara held on Thursday endorsed the work procedure to fix cases for hearing on the basis of random selection.
Earlier, the Chief Justice had been aassigning benches for hearing cases.
Meantime, The hearings in the Supreme Court were affected today as well as the justices of the apex court refused to sit on the bench.
Only 3 out of 9 benches assigned for today conducted hearings.
Four of the justices displeased with Chief Justice Cholendra Samser Jabara began hearings on the cases except cases related to the habeas corpus from Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a clash between protesting layers and police in the Supreme Court premises has injured 8 lawyers.
The lawyers are protesting demanding the resignation of chief justice Rana who is alleged to have sought share in the cabinet expansion.
