12th National Census starting from today

November 11, Kathmandu: The 12th National Census in Nepal is starting from Thursday till November 25.

The Central Bureau of Statistics at a press conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday said that the preparations for the census that occurs every 10 years had been completed.

The first phase of the census wherein household and the family listing takes place has already been completed.

Bureau Director-General Nabin Lal Shrestha said approximately 40 thousand enumerators and 8 thousand and 500 supervisors would be mobilized to collect details of persons who have been listed or those who missed out on the listing within 15 days.

Census offices have been established in all 77 districts and local census offices at 3hundred and 49 local levels.

Meanwhile, President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Debua have urged everyone to take part in the national census.
