Air pollution in Kathmandu increases with onset of winter season

November 9, Kathmandu: With the onset of the winter season, the level of air pollution has been increasing in the Kathmandu Valley, especially during the morning and the evening.

The Department of Environment (DoE) said the quality of air degraded following the decrease in minimum temperature since the last week.

DoE has urged everyone to compulsorily wear face masks and minimise outdoor activities in the morning and evening.

DoE has also advised the children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and people with cardiovascular diseases to take special care of themselves.
