Province 1 CM Rai says province’s name to be finalised soon

Kimathanka: Province no 1 Chief Minister Rajendra Rai has said the name of the province would be finalised soon after discussing it in the provincial assembly.

Talking to journalists at Tumlingtar of Sankhuwasabha on Friday, he said the province name would be decided on the basis of identity and multi-identity through consensus after discussing it in the provincial parliament.

As the Chief Minister said, discussions on the name of the province would be initiated from Koshi, Kirant and Sagarmatha which carry the identity of the province.

He shared that the discussions for naming the province would be held either by convening an all-party meeting or with the party chiefs. Chief Minister Rai said the province could not be named to date as the previous province governments did not discuss the issue in parliament or initiate the same.

He said discussions on naming the province would be started soon after the province assembly session is convened after the Tihar festival.
