People observing third day of Tihar worshipping Goddess Laxmi

November 4, Kathmandu: People across the Country are observing Laxmi Pooja( offerings to the goddess of wealth) on the third day of Tihar with gaiety and fervor.

People are busy in decorating their houses with lights and flowers to welcome the goddess of wealth in their homes.

There is a belief that cleaning and decorating houses attract Goddess Laxmi.

Similarly, people prepare traditional Nepali sweets and delicacies including Sel roti, anarasa, and fini among others to offer to Goddess Laxmi.

Also, girls play bhailo at the people’s doorsteps.

Likewise, in the morning people offer worship cow, as cow is regarded as the symbol of Laxmi.

Meanwhile, the 113th birth anniversary of the Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota is also being celebrated across the Country amid various programs.
