Parliamentary committee directs government to ensure smooth vehicular movement repairing highways damaged floods and landslides

Development and Technology Committee of the federal parliament has directed the government to ensure smooth vehicular movement by repairing the highways damaged by floods and landslides.

Citing approaching Dashain and Tihar festivals, the committee’s meeting held on Sunday at Singh Durbar directed the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to remove the hurdles along the highways and ease people’s mobility during the festivals.

The committee also asked the government to set online portals for booking flight and bus tickets, check overloading in buses and remove route permit provisions for two weeks during Dasain festival.

Similarly, the committee directed the government to review the provision of considering the projects worth more than 500 million rupees to be multi-year projects
